I enjoyed my stay very much. The room was nice, and breakfast was excellent. Charlie and Hazel were wonderful hosts--they were extremely helpful in giving directions, arranging transportation, and making recommendations.I would definitely recommend Coila for travellers!

Tips:

This was the reason for my trip, so I'd highly recommend the Burns Museum in Alloway. It was fun and informative, and you should also look at the nearby gardens and the Brig O'Doon--they're beautiful even in winter. I considered visiting Arran, but make sure you block out a whole day for it, as the ferry leaves every two hours.

This would have to be one of the best bed and breakfasts we have ever stayed at. The decor is beautiful and so welcoming. The bedroom was excellent, again in it's decor, spaciousness and a comfortable king size bed. Hazel was a friendly, informative host and cooked the most delicious breakfasts. The place is situated walking distance from town. A wonderful place to be to soak up the beauty of Scotland.

Charlie and Hazel you were both most helpful to us during our stay. Especially we appreciated the help you gave us in finding a place to stay when we arrived a full 24 hours prior to you expecting us. Your advice to see Vikingar was most appreciated as we had no idea that the Vikings had ever been in the area prior to our visit with you. Richard loved the breakfasts that you prepared and served Hazel.

Your warm welcome and offering of delicious tea and shortbread quickly made us feel 'at home'. We appreciated your guidance on eating places and places of interest and this certainly helped us get the best out of our short break in Ayrshire.

Tips:

Coila Guest House is situated in an excellent location, convenient for several quality eateries. Vito's restaurant was particularly enjoyable. The Robert Burns Centre and Burns Cottage, and related places of interest nearby, along with short walking routes in the vicinity, make this an ideal spot to pass some time. Charlie and Hazel are the kindest people I know. My husband and I stayed to attend a wedding in Ayr, as we travelled by plane our clothes for the wedding were a little crushed in the suitcase. They kindly allowed me to use their iron facilities, if we stayed in a hotel we couldn't have got our clothes sorted. Hazel not only recommended a fabulous hairdressers, she booked it! The location was ideal as it was very close to the town, the train station and close to my friends. The Guest House was immaculate. The room was perfect, very clean, spacious and warm. Breakfasts were to die for - perfect every morning! I have already recommended this Guest House to others and will continue to do so. When we are back in Ayr we will definitely reside at Coila guest House.

Coila is well appointed with a comfortable bed. Our room was very quiet even though it is on a fairly busy road. High standard of breakfast. Very friendly host.

Tips:

the West Kirk was recommended as a good, cheap option for dinner. We had not been to a Wetherspoon pub before and were not disappointed with the price and standard of food and beer.

Location is just opposite the rear entrance of the train station & a couple of minutes walk to the centre .. All in all hospitality was way higher than expected ..
